Jarrod Bowen on Liverpool shortlist as new transfer clues emerge
Liverpool interest in West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen – which the club refused to deny – suggests spending is not complete in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool have made just one signing after agreeing a £36m deal with RB Leipzig for defender Ibrahima Konate.
A deal for Bowen could be difficult. He is young and English and Liverpool could be forced to pay well over the odds if they want West Ham to even consider selling one of their most prized assets.
Still, while the club remain adamant they would be willing to wait until next summer for the right opportunities to arise in the transfer market, links to Bowen show there is a desire to bolster Klopp's options as soon as possible.

Paris Saint-Germain eye £400m window of opportunity to leave Liverpool behind
The coronavirus pandemic has destroyed the finances of many of Europe's top clubs, but not for PSG.
The French side came into the pandemic fresh from lucrative commercial deals and combined with the wealth of their millionaire owners, they have been able to use the financial restraints placed on other clubs as a springboard.
PSG have signed Sergio Ramos, Gini Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi this summer as well extending the contract of Neymar.
With these additions – and a potential new deal for Kylian Mbappe – PSG will increase their yearly outgoings on wages to near enough £400m, dwarfing Liverpool by around £55million.
Their aggressive summer recruitment drive, largely for proven performers who come with a track record of major domestic and international success, shows PSG mean business and are willing to push the boat out to achieve that goal.
For Liverpool, it will make the challenge of adding a seventh European Cup to their cabinet even more difficult given that PSG's state-based owners are able to hand them billions without consequence.

PSG set £400m Liverpool transfer challenge as Jarrod Bowen … Thu, 22 Jul 2021 07:00:00 +0100-Liverpool have been linked with a move for West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen, who has reportedly been a target for Newcastle in the past.
According to the Athletic, Liverpool are interested in former Newcastle United target Jarrod Bowen.
The winger joined West Ham in January 2020, costing £25million from Hull City.
Since joining the Hammers, Bowen has played 53 times, scoring 11 goals.
After just a season and a half with West Ham, the 24-year-old is being linked with a move away from the London Stadium.
Sadly, Newcastle are nowhere near his signature this time. Instead, it’s 2020 Premier League champions Liverpool.
The Athletic claim that Bowen is on the Reds’ radar, as they look to boost their attacking options.
In less than two years, he has gone from a Championship player to a target for a Champions League club. But could he have been a Magpie instead?
Newcastle could have signed Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen
In the summer of 2019, shortly after Steve Bruce’s arrival, Chronicle reporter Lee Ryder claimed Newcastle were unwilling to pay £20million for Bowen.
That summer, Bowen remained at Hull.
However, he was once again linked with a Premier League move in the January transfer window.
Leicester and Tottenham were reportedly keen, while then promotion hopefuls Leeds United hoped Bowen could propel them to the top flight.
The Telegraph also claimed that Newcastle were once again interested. Toon fans were excited by the prospect of seeing Bowen in black and white.
However, the Telegraph later added that the Magpies would not meet Hull’s asking price. He reportedly wanted to join Newcastle, but Mike Ashley would only pay £12million.
On deadline day, it was West Ham who secured his signature. They paid £18million up front, with a potential £7million in add-ons.
As is so often the case with Newcastle, they missed out on a top player because they wouldn’t pay the asking price.
Now Bowen is a target for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, while Steve Bruce is counting his pennies and wondering who he can sign from the bargain basement.
