What time is Canelo Alvarez vs. Billy Joe Saunders tonight? Date … Sat, 08 May 2021 11:00:00 +0100-Billy Joe Saunders will attempt to shatter Canelo Alvarez's dreams of becoming the undisputed super-middleweight world champion.
Billy Joe Saunders will attempt to pull off one of the biggest upsets by a British fighter when he takes on Canelo Alvarez tonight.
After calling out for a true test of his ability for several years, Saunders now faces the toughest challenge in boxing.
He will bid to become just the second fighter to beat Alvarez following Floyd Mayweather's points win in 2013.
In doing so he would add the Mexican's two world titles to his own strap and leave himself one short of completing the super-middleweight collection.
Alvarez, however, has an impressive resume and is the bookmakers' firm favourite to prevail in Dallas.
Here is everything you need to know about tonight's fights…
What time is the fight?
The fight will start at 4am UK time, which is 10pm in Dallas. The time is unlikely to change, regardless of the undercard, as it has been set in stone by the broadcaster.

“He thinks he’ll give me a boxing lesson?,” said Alvarez. “We’ll see. I am not the same guy I was five or six years ago. I have experience, I am a more mature fighter. So he can say whatever he wants, on Saturday night, he is in a different level of fight. I hope that I don’t need the judges on the night.
“We have always been open about what are short and long term plans have been. I want to unify the 168lb division, and Caleb Plant would be next in line to secure that short term goal if successful against Billy Joe Saunders
“The goal is to be undisputed at 168lbs and then we’ll see. I think I could stay at Super-Middleweight until the end of my career. I think I have about seven years left until I retire, but I’m listening to my body and when it tells me to quit, I’ll quit
“Nothing frustrates me, I am just focused on winning on Saturday. He has to fight me on Saturday, that has to happen, it’s not a problem.
“I don’t care about anything; I am just going to go in there and do my job. Saunders has come up with other excuses, he’s had plenty of excuses, but I am just going to go in there and do what I have to do.”

“I think I’ve been up against the crowds before; I’ve travelled as an amateur to the Olympics game at 18, there’s no bigger pressure on someone’s shoulders when they’re stepping in front of millions of people there.
“There’s added pressure coming for both of us for this fight because both of us don’t want to go home the loser. At the end of the day, half the Mexican people like him, half don’t, so hopefully half that don’t like him will be supporting the Gypsy boy, we’ll get it rocking and rolling. This is for all the Gypsies back home, everyone in the UK, plus half the Mexicans, get behind me.”

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders had an ultra tense face-off at the weigh-in Friday, before having to be separated.
Well, that was tame considering the fireworks fans are likely to see tonight, when the super middleweight world champions clash in their highly-anticipated unification bout at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex., and live on DAZN. Canelo's WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring super middleweight titles, along with Saunders' WBO 168-pound title, will be on the line.
Despite Saunders talking a confident game, Canelo, although irked, doesn't think the British fighter's boxing skills will be anything that he can't solve in the ring.
“I've been in big fights before,” Alvarez said at the weigh-in. “I know how to deal with (Saunders). At this level, you have to adjust to everything.”
The undefeated Saunders believes he has just the right mix of skills, heart and boxing IQ to shock Canelo and become the new unified super middleweight champion of the world.
“I have the belief, the spirit, the winning mentality,” Saunders said Friday. “Canelo has never faced a man with so much determination. As long as I bring my brain, I've got it. These fans will push me to win.”
