April 15, 2021, 9:52 AM · Tickets are now on sale for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

And our travel partner is offering multi-day tickets for sale on its authorized Disneyland tickets page, if you are looking for an alternative to the crowds on the official Disneyland website.

Remember that getting into Disneyland now is a multi-step process.

First, you need a ticket.

And second, you need a reservation.

But the type of ticket you buy will determine when and how you can visit, as well, so let’s go over this process before you jump in.

Start by checking Disneyland’s official ticket calendar to see which of the resort’s five ticket tiers for one-day tickets will get you into the parks on the day you wish to visit.

Tiers do not apply if you are buying a multi-day ticket – just if you are planning to visit for one day.

You will want to buy Park Hopper tickets if you want visit both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on the same day, too.

Once dates start filling up, you can see which dates still have reservation spots available on another page on Disneyland’s website.

Then when you know which ticket you wish to buy, head over to our travel partner’s Disneyland tickets page (and also to the website if you want to compare prices for the best deal), and buy your tickets.

Make note of your ticket numbers, because you will need them to make your reservation.

The final step is to head over to the Disneyland website and log in with your account to make your reservation.

You will need to link your newly bought tickets to your account, then the system will allow you to pick the date of your visit.

If you have a Park Hopper, you will need to pick which park where you want to start the day.

After 1pm, you can switch to the other park.

If you are worried about getting on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland – which will use a virtual queue – you can still start your day at DCA, as Rise will offer a second-chance entry to the virtual queue, which people with Park Hoppers at DCA can use.

Good luck, and if you get in for reopening day – April 30 – be sure to tag @ThemeParkInsider on Instagram or @ThemePark on Twitter with your photos and videos and we might share them!

Man, I thought for certain that as soon as I had my vaccine, I’d be booking a Disney trip right away.

I see all those open reservation dates and I’m beyond stoked.

Except now, in the last few days, I read about how the variants are infecting children at a much higher rate, and causing some of them long-term neurological effects, and I don’t think I can take my kids there with a good conscience.

Sure, they’ll probably be okay, but am I willing to risk permanently impairing their brain functions for a trip to Disney?

As much as it pains me to say, I think we’re going to have to wait for herd immunity, a kids’ vaccine or, at the very least, greatly decreased infection numbers.

Here’s hope the rates drop as we get into summer .

With Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park set to reopen on April 30 after a yearlong closure, the reservation system to enter the parks opened at 8

With Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park set to reopen on April 30 after a yearlong closure, the reservation system to enter the parks opened at 8 a.m.

Because the state is requiring theme parks that reopen to limit capacity, the Anaheim theme park is requiring all guests ages 3 and older to make a reservation to enter, in addition to having a ticket.

To book a visit time, guests will need to make a Disney account online here.

By 8:10 a.m., the page was displaying a message that due to high demand, the visitor should remain on the page and is “in a waiting room.”

After that, guests can sign up for an account and log in to the site, where they will see the options to “make a reservation” and “select tickets.” Both options may prompt the guest to wait for more than an hour due to high demand.

In accordance with state guidelines, only those living in California will be able to visit the theme parks, and groups will be limited to no more than three different households.

Those who previously had valid theme park tickets were allowed to make reservations earlier, starting Monday morning.

Californians who score tickets and visit Disneyland once it reopens in two weeks will see the beloved theme park changed by the pandemic.

Most noticeable will be the smaller crowds — Disneyland Resort theme parks are currently limited to 25% capacity, but that will increase once the county moves to the least-restrictive tier of the state’s four-phase reopening blueprint.

Disney is also pausing parades, nighttime spectaculars and character experiences, and there will be no MaxPass or single rider options.
