Epic Games, publisher of the popular video game “Fortnite”, has filed a complaint against “Apple” with the British Competition Authority, accusing the US computer giant of “monopolistic” behavior.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Epic Games said that “Apple’s” anti-competitive behavior and its restrictive rules regarding application distribution and payment processing constitute a clear violation “of British law.

The complaint also denounced the “monopoly practices” of the “Apple” group, which “prevent users and developers from obtaining and distributing applications through platforms other than its app store,” while paying commissions that could reach 30 percent of the revenue.

This complaint complements other legal measures launched by the company in the United States, the European Union, Australia and Britain against “Apple” as well as against “Google”.

Epic Games confirmed that it “does not seek monetary compensation” but rather on regulatory decisions from the authorities to compel “Apple” to change its practices.

Last August, Epic Games tried to circumvent the payment technology for Apple’s operating system, IOS.

The manufacturer of smart phones “iPhone” quickly removed “Fortnite” from its app store, citing a violation of the contract rules between the two companies.

“Facebook” and “Spotify” also believe that “Apple” is acting in an anti-competitive way by imposing rules on external developers that do not apply to itself.

The European Commission has opened several investigations targeting the American giant
