The Sheikh Zayed Book Award announced the works that were included in the short lists in the “Development and State Building” and “Arts and Critical Studies” branches in its fifteenth session, as the lists included six works from Egypt, Morocco, the Emirates and Tunisia.

The short list for the “Development and State Building” section included

“Dive with Seven Arrangements” by the Emirati writer Ahmed Mohammed Bin Thani, published by Austin Macauley Publishers in 2019, and “Transition to Democracy: What Do Arabs Benefit From Others’ Experiences?” By Professor Dr.

Ali El-Din Helal from Egypt, issued by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature in 2019, and “The Legacy of Supremacy between Folklore and the Religious Field” by Professor Dr.

Said Al-Masry from Egypt, issued by Battana for Publishing and Distribution in 2019.

The short list of the “Arts and Critical Studies” section The book “The Discourse of the Parable, Dialogue of Thought and Power” included a deliberative and cognitive approach by the Moroccan researcher Said Jabbar, which was published by Dar Kunooz al-Maarifa for publication and distribution in 2019, and “The Path of Modernization in Plastic Arts from Drawings to Painting” by the Tunisian researcher Khalil Quwaia, issued by Dar Muhammad Ali for publication in 2020, and “The Ethics of Interpretation: From the ontology of the text to the ontology of understanding” by the Moroccan researcher Mohamed El-Herch, which was published by Dar Al-Fasa for Publishing in 2019.

The section on “Development and State Building” witnessed an increase in the number of nominations by 17% compared to the previous session, Whereas, during the current session, 262 participants received, while the “Arts and Critical Studies” branch received 199 nominations in the current session, an increase of 6% compared to the last session
