Things turned ugly between YouTuber Jake Paul and MMA fighter Ben Askren at a dramatic press conference on Friday.
Ahead of their boxing match on April 17, the pair stepped up the mind games and got right under each other’s skin.
Askren fought three times in the UFC before announcing his retirement from MMA, defeating Robbie Lawler in controversial circumstances and then losing to Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia.
Paul has a professional boxing record of 2-0, but is yet to face anyone with real fighting pedigree, brutally defeating NBA star Nate Robinson in his last bout.
The 24-year-old video called UFC star Masvidal, who famously knocked Askren out in five seconds at UFC 239 and ridiculed his former rival.
Masvidal, who has teamed up with Paul for the fight, said: “That dude’s still alive? Tell him I like his flip-flops man.”
When the talking was over, Askren faced off with Paul and ended up facepalming him, which led to a flurry of pushes and shoves from the YouTuber as things boiled over.
In a video of the event, Askren is heard telling Paul, ‘look at all your cheerleaders, man, it’s so embarrassing’, before putting his hand in Paul’s face and Paul retaliating by aiming a body shot at his rival and shoving him in the back.
Earlier in the press conference, Askren teased Paul about ‘living in the shadow’ of his brother, fellow YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan who is set to face Floyd Mayweather in a delayed exhibition bout.
As it turned out, boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya announcing his comeback at the age of 48 was just one of the stories to emerge from the event.
The ‘Golden Boy’ will be stepping back into the ring after more than a decade out against an unconfirmed opponent on July 3.
The American icon announced the news in bizarre fashion: with a broken microphone, alongside rap artist Snoop Dogg.
De La Hoya will certainly hope his comeback fight goes better than the announcement, as those in attendance could hardly hear him say: ‘July 3, I’m making my comeback’.

Then, it got physical between Paul and Askren.
Jake Paul just couldn't resist.
During a press conference to promote his April 17 boxing bout with Ben Askren, Paul FaceTimed Askren's most notorious opponent — none other than Jorge Masvidal.
"Hey, it's your dad calling in, look," Paul said to Askren on the press conference stage Friday, holding up his cellphone to show Masvidal.
Of course, "Gamebred" memorably finished Askren in five seconds with a flying knee back at UFC 239 in July 2019.
“Are you still alive?” Masvidal said toward Askren, as Paul held his cellphone up to the microphone.
“Tell him I like them flip-flops.”
Added Paul with a laugh: "He's still alive.
Don't worry, I'm going to finish him off."
Part of the press conference also had Paul calling Askren a "p—y ass bitch," while Askren vowed that he could "do a homicide" on the YouTube sensation if he wanted to.
Although the trash talk was expected, things got physical when Askren palmed Paul's face following their staredown.
Paul retaliated by shoving Askren in the back, before the two were quickly separated.
Paul, 24, is 2-0 as a boxer, including his infamous knockout of Nate Robinson in November, having slept the former NBA player and turning him into an instant meme.
Askren, 36, enters the boxing bout having lost to Masvidal and Demian Maia in July and October 2019, respectively, before exiting the UFC and retiring from MMA.
