It’s an all out firesale

As Evan Fournier reflected on his time in Orlando after Wednesday’s game, he sure sounded like someone who knew he had just played his final game there.

That turned out to be true.

Fournier reportedly has become the third player to be dealt by Orlando on Thursday, following Nikola Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu, in what appears to be an all out Magic firesale.

Teams are finalizing the deal now, source tells ESPN.

Fournier, who like Vucevic was also having the best season of his career by averaging a personal-beat 19.7 points per and shooting 38.8 percent from three, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

It was a near certainty he would be dealt, but his status as a potential rental certainly limited the return the Magic could get.

A front office that has made a habit of undervaluing second-round picks now gets a pair of them back for Fournier.

We’ll see if Aaron Gordon will soon be joining Fournier in Boston.

Updates coming soon…

The Boston Celtics are finalizing a deal to acquire Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier for two second-round picks ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Magic have already traded Nikola Vucevic and now Fournier, and they have been entertaining offers for Aaron Gordon.

The Celtics have been rumored to be in on Gordon.

Orlando will gather significant draft assets Thursday and has young players Jonathan Isaac and Markelle Fultz under long-term contract.

Fournier, 28, is averaging a career-high 19.7 points and 3.7 assists per game this season.

He is attempting a career-best 7.2 3-pointers per contest and making 38.8% of them.

For his nine-year career, he is averaging 14.4 points per game.

He gives the Celtics a solid scoring option off the bench.
