Another lawsuit accuses Texas quarterback Deshaun Watson of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct, this time in California, just the second of the 14

ESPN investigative reporter John Barr details what’s to come for Deshaun Watson after six more lawsuits alleging sexual assault and inappropriate conduct were filed against him.

(1:37)

HOUSTON — A 14th lawsuit alleging sexual assault and inappropriate conduct was filed against Deshaun Watson by a woman who says she believes the Houston Texans quarterback is a “serial predator.”

The lawsuit, which was filed Monday night and appeared on the Harris County District Clerk’s website Tuesday morning, alleges that Watson “assaulted and harassed Plaintiff by exposing himself to her and touching her with his penis.”

The incident allegedly took place in California, just the second of the 14 allegations to take place outside the Houston area.

The traveling massage therapist alleges that when she arrived at the address Watson gave her, he led her to a room and “locked the doors behind him.” After Watson allegedly “forced Plaintiff’s hand onto his penis” during the massage, he allegedly told her, “I will not have you sign a NDA but don’t ever talk about this.”

The plaintiff also alleges that Watson reached out on Instagram in December “acting as if nothing had happened.”

Watson has denied wrongdoing, and his attorney Rusty Hardin said Friday that the allegations against the quarterback are “meritless.”

“I have never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect,” Watson said in a statement he posted on Twitter on March 16.

Tony Buzbee, the attorney for the plaintiffs, said in an Instagram post on Saturday that he would submit affidavits and evidence from several women to the Houston Police Department and the Houston district attorney Monday morning.

He also said he will request that a grand jury consider the evidence and determine whether charges should be brought against Watson by the state of Texas.

Dane Schiller, a spokesperson for the Harris County district attorney, said Monday that it would be “inappropriate” for the DA’s office to comment on the lawsuits against Watson.

“It would be inappropriate for the District Attorney’s Office to comment on a civil lawsuit, and we refrain from publicly discussing allegations in any matter until and if a criminal charge is filed; we do this out of fairness to all,” Schiller said in a statement.

Last week, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said “the matter is under review” pertaining to the league’s personal conduct policy, and the Texans said in a statement that they would stay in close contact with the NFL during its investigation.

Lawyer Tony Buzbee told FOX 26 in Houston on Monday night that the total number of assault lawsuits against the Texans quarterback has reached 14, with 24

The numbers keep increasing for Deshaun Watson, as his camp remains silent.

Lawyer Tony Buzbee told FOX 26 in Houston on Monday night that the total number of assault lawsuits against the Texans quarterback has reached 14, with 24 total claims now under consideration by Buzbee’s firm.

“Most of the cases allege the same, or similar, conduct,” Buzbee said of the civil complaints alleging misconduct during massages.

Through it all, Watson and his representatives have said very little.

Although the time for responding formally to these complaints has not yet arrived, Watson’s silence has become deafening, as far as the court of public opinion is concerned.

Despite Buzbee’s aggressive tactics and at-times disingenuous and/or not credible public statements (e.g., he’s not seeking publicity when he is, the cases aren’t about money when they are, he doesn’t know Texans owner “Cal or Hal [McNair] whatever his name is”), Buzbee’s approach is resonating with the public in large part because Watson’s approach has been to do or say hardly anything.

Meanwhile, it’s somewhat unusual that no other lawyers represent clients who are making similar claims against Watson.

In a situation like this, other lawyers who have law firms with significant monthly expenses and who are indeed in the habit of seeking publicity and/or cash will begin coming forward with other plaintiffs of their own.

With so many women making so many claims against Watson, it’s a bit odd that none of them have ended up being represented by someone other that Buzbee.

Then again, maybe that’s the next step in all of this.

Given the way this matter has mushroomed, there’s no reason to think the list of potential plaintiffs ends at 24.

There could be more that are being evaluated by other lawyers in Houston, or elsewhere.

Even if there are no additional plaintiffs, the sheer magnitude of claims makes it more and more difficult  to think that there’s an innocent explanation or that they are are embellishing, fabricating, or flat-out lying.

How come there are no criminal complaints here? Anyone who’s had any interaction with Deshaun Watson seems to be coming forward.

The guy obviously has some very bad judgement but I still smell a rat.

What is truly amazing is that this man has been with 24 women at the least and that they all have the same story.

Either this is a very big scam or Deshaun is in serious trouble

So, instead of trying to discredit the women, we are going to try and discredit their lawyer?

There are rumors that two of the accusers are recruiting women who claim they too were assaulted by Watson.

These women are being guaranteed paydays regardless of the outcome.

What’s the over/under? Asking for a friend.

24?…There uh…might be somethin’ to it…

Will Watson ever play another NFL game?

“Through it all, Watson and his representatives have said very little.”

That’s a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays off for him.

So how do the Texans benefit from this?
They have destroyed the market value for Watson.
The Texans owner sounds like a child who doesn’t think ahead.

“Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

The more lawsuits that are filed, the more likely that there’s something to all of these claims.

With that in mind, Watson may not have to worry about whether he remains with the Texans or gets traded… he’s likely to end up suspended by the NFL.

This will also cause any team still looking for a QB to back away from a deal with the Texans.

Think Deshaun will suddenly be willing to stay in Houston if he ever plays again?

Wake up, make coffee, have breakfast, check the news: another Watson accusation

No wonder he wanted to get as far away from Texas as possible.

I’m tired of reading about Watson.

How about you just let us know when law enforcement is charging him.

This is either a massive conspiracy or Watson is a sick perv.

Glad someone else sees it in the same light I do.

Something smells fishy here, and it might be spelled B-u-z-b-e-e….

if it is true, whomever covered this up for him till now deserves a PR MVP.

3 months ago Deshaun was squeeky clean.
.

He may as well wait until the number reaches all masseuses he has hired, so it will be one large settlement, like a class action suit.

Even with an understanding that he is entitled to his day in court (or 14 and counting days), I bet the Texans wish they would’ve traded him for a 7th rounder and a ham sandwich a couple months ago.

What’s the Vegas odds this is over 38 on Friday? Need to find a way to spend my Stimulus check.

I’m an aging, anti-PC, anti-cancel culture, conservative- basically a dinosaur.

I’m not wearing a pink hat or marching on the streets protesting.

But c’mon.

Enough us enough.

24 women? I’ve got a wife, a daughter, a mother.

I don’t want to see this dude on a field until all this is settled, and depending how it shakes out, maybe never again.

Where is the Houston PD in all of this? I agree that this all can’t be fabricated, but a criminal investigation must happen.

The walls are closing in on Watson.

Well, Watson’s attorney did make a statement of innocence.

It’s not really feasible to respond when Buzzbe is doing everything he can to maximize the PR impact and theatricality of his claims.

And of course the allegations are all very similar – they’ve been coaches by Buzzbe as far as what to say.

The way things are piling up here, is anyone surprised that Watson has been wanting to get out of Houston with all due deliberate speed?
An offseason of celebrity quarterbacks making public demands is certainly not going as intended – nor very well.

“With so many women making so many claims against Watson, it’s a bit odd that none of them have ended up being represented by someone other that Buzbee.”
———————-

That’s super weak.

Apparently Buzbee is well known in the Houston area, he’s famous for taking on BP against their Deepwater Horizon oil spill and he believed in & got the ball rolling for the other plantiffs.

That’s three great reasons to go to him over any other lawyer.

This story gets stranger every few days.

The lack of comments by Watson is concerning.

The speed he was silently trying to leave houston is also concerning.

If any of it is true he is about to take a big big hit.

Even if the cases are just civil ones.

Why dont pro players that have huge money take care of these things privately.

Driver, masseuse, and security are all things that are affordable at lots of price points.

Silly money.

Yeah that’s a lot of lawsuits to bring for nothing to have a happened.

GREAT! you managed to get a couple more digs in on buzbee when this whole mess is about the alleged actions of individual that would mean he’s a psychopathic serial sexual abuser.

but first, let’s talk about the lawyer.

it would be like reporting on a 24 car pile up and obsessing over the ambulance chasing lawyer at the scene.

this is about WATSON, not BUZBEE

Gonna let this play out in court.

Odd all these claims come out now, when he wants to be traded….

Even if there are no additional plaintiffs, the sheer magnitude of claims makes it more and more difficult to think that there’s an innocent explanation or that they are are embellishing, fabricating, or flat-out lying

——————

actually, you could make the case that it says the opposite.

The most puzzling thing about all this is the magnitude of the frequency of the alleged behavior, and that no word about this seemingly rampant behavior was ever leaked out from at least on victim/friend of a victim.

At the very least it should have become common knowledge in the Houston area masseuse circles making him persona non grata.

He’s rapidly approaching Cosby territory.

Rusty Hardin will eat these people for lunch if these allegations are not true.

Accusers =24
Police complaints, reports, even a phone call =0

Why is Watson’s silence deafening? He doesn’t have to say anything.

He doesn’t have to prove anything.

It obviously should be taken seriously, but when did silence become damning? You have a right to remain silent even if you haven’t been arrested.

He owes the media and the public nothing.

We all know what he would say–that the allegations are untrue blah blah blah.

So why bother? People need to stop jumping to conclusions.

You have no clue what did or didn’t happen.

I read an article the other day that this lawyer “recruited” his clients.

What does that mean? As this article points out, the lawyer’s actions are somewhat questionable.

But silence on the part of Watson isn’t damning at all imo.

Let the evidence be presented, and whatever happens happens.

If I were lawyering up and were offered representation from a guy named Tony Buzbee, pretty sure I’d go with the other guy.

Sounds like a character from Better Call Saul.

I think your last sentence says it all.

I’m not sure what the attorney’s personality has do to with whether or not these claims are true.

So really, focusing in their attorney seems like a distraction.

None of us knows what went on while Watson was getting these massages.

However, these claims are serious and should be treated as such.

And if they are not true, that should be treated seriously as well.

The number of women involved sure doesn’t make it look good for Watson as of now.

We’ll see what happens, though.

24 accusers?!?! That’s almost serial.

I think the biggest thing that seems unusual is why aren’t the police involved?

At this point, just set a “Watson Counter” on the side bar of PFT.

We are innocent until proven guilty but it is getting difficult to get over the shear number of accusers.

Sounds to me like Florio and Shareen believe he’s guilty because he hasn’t responded beyond his statements at the beginning.

The fact you don’t know doesn’t mean he’s guilty.

The whole thing is more than a bit odd.

Dang.
Watson sure gets around.

Watson is a scumbag, he should be given the Ray Rice treatment and never get the chance to play another down.

I think one of the most telling details is that he flew a masseuse in from Atlanta? She sounds more like an escort than a masseuse.

But at least if true, this would not be a good example of sexual harassment as it is kind of the entire purpose of the arrangement

I am no expert on this, but i would have to think that it would be easy to determine if Watson had engaged the services of each of these claimants.

Its not enough to claim that he did these things, at some point they have to be able to prove he was in a room with them.

And once again, maybe i am naive, but wouldn’t it undermine the credibility of the cases, if the attorney was taking on claims from clients who couldn’t prove this? Maybe he did do this to someone.

Maybe a couple….

Maybe all… A Court will likely determine.

But the more potential clients he takes on, its gotta impact the case itself – especially if there are some/all who are making fraudulent claims.

Like him or not, Buzbee has been successful in this space – and i would think he wouldn’t look to damage his reputation – which would certainly impact future earning potential.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I think based on the sheer number of claimants that Buzbee is throwing around, we have passed the point of Watson settling these cases.

This isn’t going away anytime soon.

With those kinds of numbers he could run for President.

I remember the good old days when PFT had a “days without an arrest” tracker.

Look how far we’ve come!

Wow.

If this is all true, Watson is going to face some serious jail time.

Wish I’d taken the over on eventual plaintiffs?

That’s an awful lot of smoke for there to be no fire.

Just because Buzbee wants to try these cases in the court of public opinion doesn’t meant that Watson has to do the same.

Buzbee is doing a great job of tainting the jury pool, and that might not serve him too well going forward.

Hindsight is 20/20 but Houston probably really regrets not trading DW a month ago for multiple drafts picks.

The circus that is going to follow this team on a daily basis when camp opens in July is going to be a huge distraction.

And it won’t go away by ignoring it either.

Any news as to why Brown was forced to be cut by NE and then allowed to play after Brady moves to a different team.

Kinda weird this was kept under wraps by Watson as Watson wanted out so bad.

Hmmmm.

Rogie….Oh Rogie! How much does Rogie know and how far is he willing to go to cover?

Interesting to me that so many commenters are willing to keep fighting to not believe what is playing out in front of them.

If Buzbee were making all this up for so many cases, he would be disbarred in an instant.

It’s time to put up a “Days without a Deshaun Watson lawsuit” counter on the site

Read the accusations.

They are borderline ridiculous.

The thing with the lesbian, the butt thing… cmon man.

You don’t go to a masseuse for that.

These are things you would pay a lady of the night to do.

The next “accuser” is probably gonna say Watson asked the masseuse for a friend to join in for 3 way.

They read like a smut story from Hustler.

And where is the evidence? A text message from a guy who got caught doctoring messages during a failed political campaign? Buzbee has little to no credibility and is amateurist at best.

One of two things is happening here:

1) Either the Texans were protecting one of the biggest sexual predators in the country and when Watson wanted out, the protection ended.

2) One of the biggest smear campaigns we have ever witnessed in sports perpetrated by a miffed Texans owner.

If you think that, then you are not very familiar with how the legal system works….

DeShaun = DeWho???
Promising future in the Canadian Football League @ $80,0000 a year.

I would say at this point that it’s pretty obvious that Watson has some sort of weird fetish.

Most of the really high paid elite athletes have full time people on staff for their physical treatments, or maybe a small amount of people they trust that are always on call in the various cities these guys call home.

If Watson has 14+ massage therapists in the past 2 years he’s obviously running them off with his fetish.

You nust be a complete Idiot.

You just can’t recruit people for this lawsuit.
They have to pass the smell test.

which in this case seems to follow a very specific M.O.
You must have twitter exchanges with Deshaun and or text messages.
Alleging a very specific timeframe that lines up with Deshaun being availble
No lawyer representing this many people will file a suit without doing a sniff test.
To knowingly file suits without any merit whatsoever.
will set you up for two things.
Jeopardising any legitimate suits you may have.
And setting yourself up for a defamation lawsuit.

So, instead of trying to discredit the women, we are going to try and discredit their lawyer?//////// The dude is discrediting himself.

He could not be handling this worse, from a victims perspective.

If there was a strong case against Watson (a lawyer like this seeking out victims is not evidence) then the attorney wouldn’t have to be making so many public opinions.

Oh ya, lest we forget, to date there is zero police investigation.

And that is why Watson is staying silent.

Guilty or not, until the police get involved, there is no reason for Watson to say a damn thing.

Texans organization is doing a modern day slave hold on Watson.

24 Cases of sex crimes and no criminal charges? Doesn’t pass the smell test.

I hope teams will see thru this BS and still court Watson.

I will admit that Watson is dumb as hell to not hire some Vegas brothel women to perform “masseuse” work, like Charlie Sheen says, “..I pay them bc I know they’ll leave, not stay..”

The problem for me is I don’t believe.
I don’t believe Buzbee is completely reputable.
I don’t believe 24 women kept silent all this time.
I don’t believe that money on the table had nothing to do with civil not criminal litigation.
I don’t believe Watson is completely innocent.
if he does behave this way I don’t believe that he just started or that he hasn’t left a clear trail.
Finally I don’t believe that an innocent man wouldn’t come out and scream to the press “I didn’t do it!”
.
I don’t trust any element of this.

I guess I just don’t believe.

Every player here seems a little suspect until we know more.

//////////
I’m generally on the side of the person reporting a crime, when police are involved.

So far, this is absolutely just about an attorney suing a rich football player.

I can’t even call them victims yet.

Accusers, at best.

This attorney is so greasy, if I was a police officer that would be investigating this, I’d have to have serious doubts about what this attorney has told the accusers to say.

Evidence.

Where is the evidence? Maybe it comes out.

But so far, it has not.

What bothers me the most is; there is not a police investigation.

None at all, that I am aware of.

I’m surprised that PFT hasnt just put a ticker on the top of the page by now.

14 reasons why Frisco is not interested in Watson.

Their owner wants to win with class.

The 15th reason is that Watson makes way too much money for a quarterback who has never won a conference championship game.

The 16th reason is that they have a qb who led the 49ers to the Super Bowl.

The 17th reason is that they are all set with Jimmy G.

making another Super Bowl run.

WARNING: To any NFL player looking to dictate terms to their team’s ownership/management.

You’d better have the high ground!

Not ONE criminal charge filed…..

that alone tells me all I need to know about this story…..$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Stop acting like the Texans should have traded Watson earlier … Whatever team would have traded for Watson would have backed out after the first couple of sexual assault allegations were made.

The NEW league was after the first allegations were made.

Next up, how do so many posters seem to know that a masseuse didn’t go to the police? Maybe one, two or ten did, but there wasn’t enough evidence to bring a case against Watson.

The first 9 gave him a happy ending, the 10th did not.

Repeat this for 24 weeks and you have 24 accusers and one lawyer with dollar signs ringing like church bells.

So are we not going to talk about the real story here? Pace finally made the right call on a QB! Good job Ryan!

This guy is so screwed up that only four or five teams now covet him and would drool to have him.

Law suits? What law suits.

Sex harassement? What did you say, cant hear you? No this guy is an idol and star player, there is nothing to see here.

He will survive.

Funny hollywood and the ACLU hasnt rund in yet and protected him.

Oh come on people, a man is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Period.

By social media.

For the skeptics: keep in mind that these masseuses have put their careers on the line.

I assume that masseuses see strange things from time to time.

In this case, these women are willing to alienate future clients because they think that Watson’s behavior was inappropriate.

That means that they think the contact/behavior wasn’t accidental.

The number of women involved also means that it’s a pattern… and that (if true) he’s a predator.

If you’ve ever spoken to a woman that’s been in a similar situation, there’s lots of confusion on the victim’s side.

The person questions whether they could have done something differently, whether they’ll be believed, etc.

Actually, the majority of assaults go unreported simply because people don’t want to deal with the sort of questioning you see in this thread.

It all makes sense when you look at the past political record of the charging lawyer.

Things are not looking good for Deshaun.

If any of this is true, which I hope it is not, how can the NFL allow him to continue playing?

Now we know why he wants out of Houston so bad.

All this proves is Watson went and had at the minimum 14 massages.
This is a complete money grab and when discovery gets public and these accusers dirty laundry gets aired it will be a completely different story.
And the media better be just as on top of all those juicy details as they have been against Watson.
I’m not saying he is a Saint, I am saying in most of these situations these women knew EXACTLY what they were getting into.

And anyone to think otherwise has had their head buried in the sand.
Why not a SINGLE one of these ever gone to the police when the so called incidents took place?? Not one single time? Come on man..

this smells dirty.

You’re defending Watson, Florio, whether you realize it or not by trying to impinge on the character of the lawyer representing those suing Watson.

At what point is the term “serial” going to come into the conversation?

“Will Watson ever play another NFL game?”

Sure he will.

He’ll probably be suspended, he’ll apologize to “anyone who may have been offended” by his behavior, and then he will be back under center either for Houston or for someone else.

Only a very small percentage of the general population can play QB effectively in the NFL, and Watson is among that number.

Talent can get you a lot of leeway.

For those constantly posting why these are civil cases and not criminal charges, here is some legal insight.

In civil cases, the promiscuity of the women can not be called into question.

The majority of these women are most likely escorts with a massage license.

This does NOT mean he is innocent of ANY of the accusations.

It’s one man’s word against the word 14 to 24 women and counting.

Next question, why are all these women going through the same attorney? Easy.

It’s hard enough for one woman to come forward, but once it’s out there more will come out of hiding and finally speak their cases.

Going through the same attorney who is filing these lawsuits in the best possible way to even the playing field legally against someone with the resources that Watson has at his disposal, is the best way for these women to prove he is guilty.

Any of these cases on their own, can be beaten easily by Watson and his attorneys, but the more that pile up on him…it’s doubtful he gets away with it.

If anything, he will definitely be suspended for flying women across state lines in violation of the NFL and State covid protocols during that time period.

The fanboy creeps on these boards are disgusting, as much as Watson’s actions filednin court for anyone to read.

We really need to hear this in Court before jumping to conclusions.

If Watson is some sort of serial rapist, a monster who has changed these women’s lives For the worse, you would expect that there would be a complaint to the police department at least once.

These women may well have suffered some abuse at the hands of Watson, but they may well be piling on hoping to collect some easy money.

I suspect that the lawyer does not want this to go to Court but is hoping to get an out-of-Court settlement.

And seeking out additional women to lend their names to the Civil lawsuit (as opposed to a Criminal complaint) is consistent with that.

As for Watson’s silence that a number of people have found disturbing, the man already said that the accusations are baseless and that he looks forward to clearing his name.

There’s not much to say beyond that.

Now if Mahomes gets into trouble the Bears will look like geniuses for picking Trubisky

If you people think that you can’t just lie and make up things in a lawsuit, just pay attention to Sidney Powell now.

She filed all those lawsuits claiming the election was stolen, people burned ballots, Jugo Chavez was involved, and other crazy BS.

Now she’s being sued and her best defense is “ok I lied, but any sane person would have never believed those things anyway”.

Men lie, women lie.

Watson has built an insurmountable lead.

He can’t possibly come out of this unscathed.

Neither of them can regardless of whatever the truth actually is.

Things change fast.

I actually think it’s quite easy in this day and age to find multiple like minded people who want an easy payday.

People making a big deal that it went civil before criminal obviously need to read up on Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein.

Rich men have friends in high places including police and prosecutor offices.

Bill Cosby passed himself off as a wholesome family man for decades, and the public considered him America’s dad.

Watson’s image in the media says more about the media than reality.

Recall these are the same people who lionized Michael Avenatti and portrayed him as a crusader for truth rather than a shady attorney who stole from his clients.

This is either a massive conspiracy or Watson is a sick perv.

One of the biggest stars in the NFL is accused of sexual misconduct by multiple victims.

It’s time to put up a “Days without a Deshaun Watson lawsuit” counter on the site

======================================================================
I think it would have to be timed in hours at this point.

okay i said it when it was 7 i’ll say it again now….it is extremely unlikely that this lawyer, sleeze or not, convinced 14 women to perjure themselves in court…

Who knows whats true, but at this point in time, i think this is gonna end with the biggest scandal in nfl history and i think the nfl is going to be removing an owner.

This just feels kike bad business from some rich entitled religious types.

At what point is the term “serial” going to come into the conversation?

When is serially proven in the court of law

This man career is over
