The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, in cooperation with Dubai Municipality, on Monday, successfully launched the “DMSat 1” nanometer satellite.

The satellite was launched from the Baikonur space port in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the “Saios” launch rocket.

Mission objectives The satellite aims to employ space technology and artificial intelligence techniques to strengthen the environmental monitoring system at the level of the UAE, in addition to monitoring the concentrations of suspended particles in dust and monitoring the concentrations of gases that cause the phenomenon of climate change, “carbon dioxide, methane and water vapor.

” The beginning of the project was in 2016, by setting the requirements of the Dubai Municipality to study the air through satellites and in contracting with the University of Toronto to build the moon.

Features of the moon The moon is characterized by its small size, as the weight of the nanometric satellite DMSAT-1 is about 15 kilograms and will capture images with a resolution of 40 m through 3 multi-spectral bands that revolve 14 revolutions around the earth per day at an altitude of 550 km from the surface of the earth.

From 2-3 years.

The moon carries 3 devices with high-resolution cameras and a GPS system
