Welcome back Cat! Find out where Cat Deeley is living now after years in America and when she is next on TV with Ant and Dec

Cat Deeley lived for years in America and enjoyed success as a television host across the pond.

But London was clearly calling, as the star is now back in the UK.

And she is about to make her return to ITV as she’s reunited with Ant and Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway tonight (March 20).

A post shared by catdeeley (@catdeeley)

Cat is definitely still good friends with her former SMTV Live co-hosts Ant and Dec.

In fact, the trio are about to reunite for Saturday Night Takeaway.

Cat shared a glimpse into their rehearsals on Instagram.

The three are in hysterics, and she captioned the picture with: “ell that was fun! Rehearsals for #Chums with @antanddec for @itvtakeaway.”

As any SMTV Live fan will know, Chums was a Friends-style parody that featured every week on the show.

What a blast to be back together with @catdeeley.

Several of Cat’s celebrity pals rushed to congratulate her on her return to British telly.

Louise Redknapp commented: “My bestest ever ever friend!”

Steps singer Ian H Watkins posted a string of heart emojis.

Over on Ant and Dec’s official Instagram they shared the same snap.

With the caption: “We’ll be #Chums forever.’

“What a blast to be back together with @catdeeley rehearsing this week’s End Of The Show Show.”

Cat, now 44, became a household name thanks to her popularity on SMTV Live.

Here she hosted sketches and interviewed celebrities along with Ant and Dec.

But in 2006 she moved to Los Angeles, California, to host So You Think You Can Dance.

Her hosting stint proved a hit in the US and she went on to guest host Live with Kelly and Ryan among other projects.

She’s even done some acting work, playing Camomile in the US series Deadbeat.

She moved to America with her partner Patrick Kielty and the couple married in 2012.

They share two sons, Milo, five, and James, two.

Cat and her family are believed to have relocated back to the UK at some point last year.

They now live in north London.

Speaking to You magazine, Cat said her family got caught up in a US shooting ordeal.

And the trauma of this encounter persuaded them to return to British soil.

She said: “I got a call from Paddy, saying: ‘They’re taking us out through the fire exits but nobody can get to their car.

If we walk to a junction, can you come and get us?’”

She described the incident as “terrifying”.

Additionally she said she feared the prospect of school shooters when her sons attended American school.

Cat Deeley is set to appear on tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Takeaway.

The episode kicks off at 7pm.

Once it has aired, it will be available to stream on ITV Hub.

Saturday Night Takeaway fans were delighted to see Ant and Dec reunited with their friend Cat Deeley to revive their SMTV: Live sketch Chums.

Viewers were filled with nostalgia as the trio chatted and laughed together on Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly's Saturday night family entertainment show Saturday Night Takeaway.

Their Saturday morning show SMTV: Live ended in 2003, but the trio were reunited to create a brand new episode of Chums.

Back in the day Chums, starring a stream of celebrity guests each week, was loosely based on the American sitcom Friends.

"Cat Deeley is back with Ant and Dec I’ve just gone back 25 years," cheered one fan on Twitter.

"Ant, Dec and Cat back together makes me happy," said another.

"I absolutely love seeing Ant, Dec and Cat back together! Makes me feel old!" tweeted another.

"The ABSOLUTE JOY of seeing Ant, Dec and Cat together again," said another fan.

"Just screamed like an idiot seeing Ant, Dec and Cat together again!" said another.

"Ant, Dec and Cat on a Saturday just like it used to be!" exclaimed another.

And another fan said: "Nostalgia overload – Ant Dec and Cat!!!!"

But others clocked there was no social distancing between them and asked how the trio were able to stand so close together.

"How come Ant, Dec and Cat aren't social distancing?" asked one.

"Why is there no social distancing with Cat Deeley?" wondered another.

"No social distancing with Cat Deeley then?" asked another SNT fan.

And another wondered: "How can @catdeeley get so close to @antanddec?"

ITV confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that the three presenters formed a work bubble together for the reunion.

Former Byker Grove stars Ant and Dec, who presented I'm A Celebrity …Get Me Out Of Here! together at the end of last year, previously explained that they take steps to make sure they're Covid-compliant and get tested every four days.

Dec told This Morning that their households are connected and they had formed a 'cohort' so they could continue to work together in close proximity.
